Something for Everyone on Valentine's Day

Part of Mr. Lime's Christmas gift was that after 7 years in this house I finally put pictures on the walls.  For Valentine's Day I will put away the Christmas decorations that have been sitting on the dining room table for over a month.  I am the last of the true romantics.

Here's something from Etsy.com for the deranged among us.  It's a skeleton Cupid!  I dunno if it's a euphemistic way of saying, "Hey Valentine, you give me a boner!" or "I wish you were dead!"  Maybe for the truly unwell it means both. *shudders*

Here's something for the more jaded among us...or just those with a wicked sense of observational humor.

And here's something for the less jaded. Even though I dearly love Mama Cass, I think this is a very sweet rendition of my favorite song. (Don't mind the weird intro.)

Man, you make me wish I could find my all-time favorite Valentine Card (for what will become obvious reasons, I never actually sent it to anyone). It had an old photo of a gnarly-looking old guy, probably around my grandpa's age, standing in the yard behind a chair. It reads, "Here's Your Damn Valentine", and on the inside, "Now sit down and shut up!" . . . Yeah, I'm such a romantic. . . ;)

See, I think the skeletal cherub is making some black humor of the life-vs-death variety. . .

The song really is tres sweet, and she has a lovely voice, and plays the ukulele very well. But singing in front of the open fridge is just kinda, I dunno. . . weird. . .

She is the reason I bought a uke. This song in particular. At this time I would like to give a shout out to the syrup....

That's one of my favourite songs too.. and yes, she's very sweet.. but not like the syrup.

I love that song! And the video is perfect, just a little wacky, but sweet. :)

JP said he was going to be so sweet to me today, and so far so good, although the strain is beginning to show.

You have just reminded me that I have never, ever received a card on Valentines day. Boohoo!

I think that's now my favorite rendition of that song. Truly excellent. And she gave a shout out to syrup, one of my favorite condiments!

I would not be able to sleep at night if I had Xmas decor on my table......you are a funny Lime. Hope you have a wonderful holiday, whatever you may be celebrating!

There was at least one recent year where we left up the string of lights outlining the porch trim, until Ash Wednesday. Just didn't seem right to have Christmas lights up in Lent. . .

And, just for the record, I love American women. My wife, and daughters, and all of my mothers (to say nothing of any girlfriends I may or may not have ever had) have been American women. Just sayin'. . . ;)

I would not have listened past the intro on account of the ghetto accent... I'm not into that.

But she is a gem! Why haven't I heard of her before? She's fantastic!

Hmmm... I saw that comment urging us to boycott American women. That's fascinating... He and I are very much alike, because I encourage people to boycott stupid blogs... like his.

See! And people wonder why I am not a fan of flowers. I think that sums it up quiet nicely. :)

Adorable rendition of Dream a Little Dream. So much confidence: to sing in front of the fridge! Just chillin', man. Loved it! :-D

Think I might just have given him a hammer and a box for V Day. Teaching him to fish and all being more helpful long-term than handing him a fish.
