So in the last week...

I've unexpectedly been many days without propane tanks for cooking or back up heat.

We've run out of wood pellets for the main source of heat.

I've had my job security threatened.

The basement has flooded twice.

I've had a car refuse to start.

I've had 2 more claims denied by various insurance companies.

The water heater crapped out.

I found out I have tendinitis.

It's been real groovy.

But at least I have electricity, running water, a solid home, and my family is safe, which is more than can be said of so many people in Japan.  Nothing like a bit of perspective to function as a kick in the pants.

It is heartbreaking to see what has occurred there.  My prayers and hopes are with the suffering.

True, but it's still very human to worry about the things going on in our own life, too.

Yeah, but relatively speaking it sounds like you and yours have had your own earthquakes and tsumami.

Prayers and good vibesn your way.

It's true. I've been complaining about the brutal winter we've had since the first snowflake fell, and now more than ever I appreciate our lovely, landlocked, sedentary little piece of the world, however cold it might get.

My heart goes out to the people in Japan AND you, Lime. Glad to see you're keeping your perspective.

You are right, of course, we must keep our perspective, but I have to say that you made my rather boring routine welcome.

I caught someone complaining about having to wait at Jiffy Lube for an hour to get their oil changed the other day. I pointed out that it's nice they have a car that isn't floating towards China now and there isn't a nuclear reactor about to blow up any where near by.

99% of us have lives that millions of people on this planet would swap their very best days for our worst.

You have simply GOT to stop with the spitting in the cosmic cornflakes, my dear. . . ;)

It does come to feel like the Universe is just piling on gartuitously sometimes, doesn't it?

And Japan. . . I have no words. Towns of 10,000 souls just vanished in an hour is horrifying beyond comprehension. And that is a modern 'technological' society, that the Universe just shook like a dog's chew toy. . .

You're taking on more than your own share of earth shaking. I hope things improve for you soon. As for Japan.. my heart just aches. It's unimaginable.

Well, hey, you're also the hottest chick ever to grace an album by The Garden Weasels Of Malice. There's that :-)

Well, yes, but mine are with you and yours too. Hm. Maybe I ought to stop for a bit and see what happens. I might be the wrong guy for the job :-P

The mouse is gnawing at the cupboard door
He's been at it now for an hour or more
When he gits in, he'll sure be sore...
Ain't a dang thing in it.

My Dad used to sing that song. Heh, heh.

The problems in Japan are truly terrible. Good for you to at least see your problems more clearly in perspective, but that doesn't mean that your problems aren't important too. They are huh? - Dave
