Slice of Lime & Friday 55-Always Fresh

For years I've heard G-man rave about Tim Hortons.
We have only Starbucks,
which tempts me not at all.
I even saw the first Starbucks in Seattle...
and yawned.

Then Logo and Thing Two
took me to Tim Hortons in Canada.

Hot cocoa and a pastry.

Sipping contentedly.

Mmmm...cheaper and yummier than Starbucks.  I'm convinced!

Logo took me (well, technically we met there) to Calico Cupboard in Mt Vernon. She ordered pastry there, too, and told me she didn't do that often .....

Quilly,
it's the blogger special exception.
The calories don't count that way
:p

Lime, you look good with some Canada on you, or around you, as the case may be.

Alas, we Brits are lacking such delights...

We don't have any Tim Horton's here, but lots of Panera, which is only slightly cheaper than Starbucks. I like them all though.

I confess, I do like me some Starby's. But Tim's being a Canadian chain, we got lots of 'em here in MI, and I agree - it's pretty darned good. . .

I concur - Tim Horton's is a far superior destination than CoffeeBucks.

Here in Michigan we've got both, but there's a local chain called Biggby's that I prefer over either one.

I even added a Biggby bumper sticker to my car, where once I had only my famous "Bubba Knows" bumper sticker.

Any ode to coffee is a friend of mine. We only have Starbuck's here, but we do have a local chain known as (of course) Cowgirl's Coffee that kicks their butt. But I'll take either one when the need for caffeine is on me. Great 55 bean salute to the nectar of the gods.

Alas, no Tim Horton's here in Boston. I've always wanted to go to one. I see their advertising on the boards on so many hockey telecasts!

Do they serve grits? If Starbucks served grits I would just about live there after I get off work in the mornings.

I wish that we had one here!

My Canadian cousins LOVE Tims! Its a good thing they have something other than coffee, isnt it?

Not a Starbucks fan myself. Maybe Horton would do. Or perhaps Caribou.

There's Timmy in the US? I had no idea.

That's because Starbucks bites. Their coffee, at least, tastes like they've burned it.

Wow, that makes me darned envious! It looks like a yummy cuppa, most definitely. Very fun 55 (and you made the G-Man so happy!).

We don't get this here either. Enjoy - Dave

Heh, heh... we had a Tim Horton's near me for a bit, but I never made it in before it closed. The most common place here is Dunkin' Donuts.

Every now and then I buy a cup, if I'm out and desperate for hot caffeination, but paying $2 - 3 for a cup o' Joe just kills me. I try to avoid... make myself one when I get home, and enjoy that feeling of $2 still in my wallet, not spent on 25 cents worth of coffee.

I hate drinking in bars or restaurants for the same reason. Though once, out with friends in NYC, I thought I'd try to economize, alternating beers with sodas to get through the night. The Coke I ordered? $4! (1996!) I asked the waitress "How much for a rum and coke?" $4.50. "Oh... well, take this back and put some rum in it then."

Lime at Timmy's! You'll be sprouting maple leaves before you know it.
