What I'm Doing With Myself

No, not that...get your minds out of the gutter, you perverts.  So today is four weeks since I was unceremoniously terminated.  Joy.  In addition to applying for unemployment, spiffing up my resume, and looking for jobs, I've been doing other things.  There has been much more mom taxiing since my schedule obviously allows more easily for that.

I've been able to attend Isaac's home games on a regular basis for the first time in three years.  I've been glad for that.

He seems less glad as evidenced by this "put down the freaking camera" pose while the teams were at the opposite end of the field.  I think mainly he's really self-conscious since this is the first time he has ever played the game.

Over the weekend Diana and I went to the state's largest fair.  The rest of the family wasn't interested so Diana and I had fun without them.  I was sort of stunned by some of the fare at the
fair.

I'm wiggling uncomfortably at the thought of this.
Not really my taste but I know others who are fans.

I've also been messing around with my camera a little.  Calypso and I have been getting under each other's skin lately for a variety of reasons.  A couple days ago she gave me a couple of small sunflowers to say she was sorry for being less than sunny.

I took some time to lick my wounds and just try to get my feet back under me.  I'm coming out from under the clouds and trying to set my face toward the sun like the sunflowers.

I've bumped into a a couple more patients who were both sad to hear I'd be let go.  One told me she misses my warm and smiling greeting because my replacement is cold and incompetent. One was the HR secretary at a local school's administrative office when I went to drop off an application.  She was very encouraging and let me know she intended to speed my application along because she likes me.  Fingers crossed....

Butt fries, 'cuz that's where they'll end up. . .

I, uh, shudder to think of what the ingredients of a wedgie sub might be. . .

But I'm willing to try that last concession stand. . .

Glad things are all square betwixt you and yer dear girl.

And I'm absolutely confident that you'll be back to work before you know it. And maybe even before you wanna be; the last time I changed jobs, I kinda wished I'd pushed my start date back a couple weeks, just to give myself a chance to decompress. . .

Fair food is just bizarre and so very very wrong, though it makes for great pictures.

Fingers crossed right along with you!

Fair food is just plain disgusting, as evidenced by your photos! Great comments too!

Hoping for good news on the job front!

The fair fare is more foul than fair.

You and BoomBoom did a great job of freezing the motion in that first soccer pic! Mine would have come out blurry. Soccer is a fantastic game; I hope Isaac loves it.

Hooray for the pleasant change with Calypso!

We're rooting for you, as you recover and redirect on the job front.

I wonder why fairs seemed more fun when I was younger and maybe that was because I had not read any nutrition books as a child! So wishing you the best of luck on your job hunt, Keep optimistic!

Love what you've done with the sunflowers. Not your typical sunflower images.

No, like I tell my suffering wife, my mind is quite at home in the gutter.

For the year I was a carney, I subsisted on fair food. The good thing was it's all free for the workers. The bad thing was... well, it was fair food. I probably took three years off of my life by shoveling that stuff down my gullet all summer.

Hmmmmmm. . . I wasn't thinking anything remotely gutter-ish, until you brought it to my attention. . .

Methinks somebody doth protest too much. . .
