A week ago a friend called me to come to her Mary Kay party. Gag! I tried to politely decline on the basis that i don't like, wear, or own any make-up. I hate the stuff. She said she just wanted an excuse to have people over. Ok fine, I'll come as long as you understand I ain't buying any make-up. She's fine with that. I went. Little did I realize I had to sit there gazing into a mirror for 2 hours (which is about an hour and 59 minutes too long) and apply more chemicals to my face than may be contained in the average Superfund site.
I cleansed, toned, exfoliated my lips (good lord, people actually DO this!), moisturized, concealed, painted, blushed, glossed, the list goes on......After I had applied no less than FIFTEEN products to my face the crowd gasped and said......get ready.......are ya ready?......big ironic moment coming......."Oh Lime! You look so beautiful and natural!" I think my single arched eyebrow, tamed into perfect submission above the painted eyelid was sufficient to convey how much stock I put in their assessment.
So, not that it will change my behavior in the least, but I am curious to know which do you prefer?
The painted Lime?
Or Lime au naturel?
Gimme a vote in the comments and I won't be offended if ya tell me the barn door needs paintin'. I want male and female comments from as many people as I can. I'm curious to know what people really think about make-up in general. I want the unvarnished (unlike my face) truth.

Were both are great, I like the Lime au naturel the bestest!
Happy HNT!
I hate makeup too! Cheers and Happy HNT!
Definitely the non makeup look is more natural and fresher! Happy HNT Lime! XXXX
Girly,
you look alright any ole way,
but the natural limey-ness is just your style!
Lovely HNT!
mwah
The truth?
I think the makeup evened out the tones of your face. It made your eyes look larger, which is really nice as you have beautiful eyes. The make up wasn't over done and was hardly was noticeable, but it did have a real positive affect in subtle ways and you do llok better with it. Your lips looked much more kissable, but that may have only been the lighting, I couldn't tell. All in all, I like the way you look either way and there really isn't that much of a difference with and without.
You asked for the truth.
Pretty, natural, good. :)
Okay, I'll be honest... but keep in mind that I also HATE makeup.
I think the expression on your face in both shots (I'll leave the third shot out of the equation) speaks for itself. You feel more comfortable and beautiful when you're not wearing a pound of lard on your face. When you feel beautiful, you ARE your most beautiful.
Personally, I really don't think it looks like a pound of lard, but I've had to go to those devilish parties, and I know it sure feels like a pound of lard.
I like the natural face, but I prefaced my bias before I started...so, for what it's worth ---
HHNT.
I like it both ways! Love the profile pic too! Happy HNT!
Your Real Reaction: ROTFLMAO!
Damn, now my sides hert.
I vote the no makeup look. You already know that what makes you beautiful is how you feel.
Also, makeup tends to taste real bad. Not that you're looking for any loving from MY lips, but I just needed to toss that out there.
ROFLMAO
mary kay ladies scare me
i vote without
i think you look great without
and i don't lie.
HAPPY HNT
I would go straight down the middle. I like a tinted moisturizer, a little mascara and some lip gloss.
If it takes longer than that - I'm not going to do it! You are beautiful either way....some women just aren't that lucky!!
You are ;-)
Happy HNT!
Ladybug
Is it terribly bad if I can't really tell a difference?
Let me ask you this: if the point of wearing makeup is to "look natural" then why wear makeup at all? Why not just not wear makeup and be as natural as you get?
I think you look great without the stuff.
And happy HNT!
Barn door needs painting...yeah that's funny.
I like your hair more in number 1, but your eyes and mouth more in the second...so I guess the make-up isn't all that important. You're beautiful either way!
HHNT!
You have beautiful features, first of all. With or without makeup your features, especially your eyes, look beautiful. I like the natural look. :)
Happy HNT!
Now this is odd for me being a girlie girl and makeup lover, but I think I like you au naturel better. I think you look younger and just sort of fresher in the second photo.
You do look great in both. I'm jealous here because I never leave my house without makeup.
Happy HNT.
Both look nice. I like the second one best because you're smiling. I am pretty much anti makeup myself. I just don't care for it really on me. I feel "made up". But yours was quite elegant and really accentuated your features. Soooo my opinion is... Sexy night out...go with pic # 1. Sexy night out that will include some hot sweaty messes...pic #2 would be the best...lord knows we hate facial meltdowns. ;-)
Happy HNT gorgeous Lime!
I lurve make up, and I spend way too much on it, but you look gorgeous without it. The hell with Mary Kay and her pink cars.
I hardly ever wear makeup myself. I think that in your "naked" pic your skin looks beautiful and you really don't need makeup. If you were to wear any on a daily basis, I'd say just some mascara and lipcolor and you're good to go!
Happy HNT! :)
Lime, that's a really good shade of lipstick for you, BUT natural.
All right Lime. You're going to have to redo this.
For one, you're smilin' in the au natural and you're not with make-up. Seriously, a smile makes a world of difference.
As for Mary Kay, their zit stuff kicks *ss. My wife won't let me use her Mary Kay zit stuff because it's too expensive, but it really works.
mmm I wear make-up purely because it makes me feel allot prettier!
Btw, I love your hair!!!!
I prefer Lime au naturel.
Happy HNT!
Sans make-up. Happy HNT!
Put that makeup down and step away from it slowly! 'Lime au naturel' is much more beautiful by far!
go natural! HHNT!
Wow you are sooo beautiful! Actually you really resemble my ex wife (but I wont hold that against ya!)
Happy HNT!!
Another vote here for...clean face...but with some added color on your lips...that's all you need, baby.
I don't wear much either...only because I have the palest skin on the planet & I usually end up looking like Mommy Dearest...when I put on makeup.
Happy HNT.
You definitely look happier without it. So go with what makes you happy fer sure.
As a light dabbler in paint (for bad skin days), Mary Kay is yuck. Almay is the only thing that doesn't make me break out. Not that you wanted to know that.
I say NEKKID ALL THE WAY!
Happy HNT!
jeez....no just joking....You look great either way. Ok I am gonna go MK on you now. Believe me if you want, but this is true...you are actually better off wearing at least foundation because it protects your skin from all the pollutants in the air....before I became a MK Consultant I was like you too, I hate the stuff, I wore makeup, but not a lot and I still do not wear a lot,but my skin has improved since becoming a consultant. I am not offended by your post at all, I knew I would not be, but thanks for warning me in advance. :)
I never ever ever wore makeup before July of last year. My dad would never allow it, and there I was at age 28 learning how to do it.
I sell Mary Kay and I had no idea that people thought that way about doing the facials. I try not to drag anyone into them kicking and screaming, fact is I wouldn't want someone doing the same to me.
I am not just saying this because of the fact that I sell Mary Kay, but I like the first picture better, your face is brighter!
You look great anyway!
Have a good day!
You know, I'm seeing very little difference between them. You are a beautiful woman au naturel, I don't see the need for the make up. It is rather ironic isn't it, how much trouble some go through to get the "natural look".
They're both lovely.
I think you look good either way. Isn't it weird how "natural" one can look when they have massive amounts of crap on their face?
a naturale is best :)
happy hnt!
Je prefer ua naturale merçi beaucoup. HHNT!
Natural. Besides, I've always thought nice hair is more important than make up, and I think you have nice hair.
I like lime...natural
Happy HNT!
Both are nice. It just depends on what you like. Makeup can bring out your good features. It did make your eyes pop out and gave you lips more definition. I like to wear it when I go out. It depends on what I’m doing as to how much I wear… the whole face or just a few of the basics.
You are beautiful regardless.
I prefer you unpainted. Very few women I can say that about.
HHNT!
You're beautiful in both pix, girl.
Now who's ready to go ram a pink cadillac? LOL!
HHNT!
Natural. No question.
well, if you were a piece of art I would deffinately have you framed
you look good in both pictures but I have to go with the nude...its just more comfortable and you have tons more time in the day :)
HHNT
You have great coloring and don't need the paint! And your "reaction shot" is priceless...
Happy HNT--
You look gorgeous with and without makeup!!!! Damn I'm jealous! *grin*
Happy HNT!
you look wonderful in make-up but I like you natural . Some women do not look good with out make-up but you do ! Happy HNT!
Would you really start to wear the paint if enough of us said we think you should even if you don't like it? Oh, I hope not. You don't need it.
Happy HNT!
The second one is clearly nicer. More open, friendly.
Happy HNT.
I'll take lime anyway shape or form!
I'm still LOVIN' the biker pic, too. What a CLASSIC foto!
Hey thanks for the commen the other day I appreciate it.
When it comes to make up do not let it change who you are. I must say I had clearsil as a kid, or zit cream
Hey, Lime. It sort of depends. If one is going to appear on stage or on TV then makeup's great because the lights tend to wash one's natural colors out and reflect too much light through instead of off the skin. Otherwise? Unpainted please. (Besides, paint tastes terrible.)
Take care,
figleaf
