To see this....
What an AMAZING production! We picked this show because we knew it was what the girls would most want to see. I've only seen the movie which did not impress me. All I can say is, 'WOW!!!! I'm so glad we saw this show. It blew me away.' We had fairly good seats too which made it all the better.
Then we went to Central Park for a carriage ride (sorry, those pics didn't come out too well). Next we stopped for a bite to eat here...
We enjoyed our meal and the pickles...
Diana played 'hide the pickle.'
Her friend was snorting pickles...
THAT'S when I decided it was time to call for help!
Finally we took a walk around here...
We did a little shopping, saw some fun sights, pushed around in the crowd, and acted like crazy tourists (hey, if the New Yorkers can be pushy and crazy when they come to the Poconos turn about is fair play!). It was a GREAT day!

How fun!
The ironic part...that pickle you are using to make a call is bigger than some cell phones I have seen!
Great pics Lime, Manhattan is great! I would love to know what else u did with those pickles ;-)
Oh now that looks like a really fun 16 party!
The pickles...all I can say is, I've had a premonition....TBA
So um, you could only afford pickles and not the rest of the dinner? New York CIty can be expensive like that!
I loved Phantom - it really is a great show!! So glad you enjoyed your trip.
Sounds like we all had fun excursions this weekend. :)
Sounds like you guys had a blast! My mom never did anything cool with me, at least I didn't think it was. Here's to many more fun mom/daughter activities!
Now, that seems like a great (and very adult) way to spend your 16th. I can back Rob up on "The Lion King". We saw the Australian production in Sydney and it was fantastic (this from a bloke who doesn't generally like musicals).
Glad you had fun in NYC! Can't believe you didn't tell me you were coming tho! :-( Oh well, next time. Good count tho very sad.
Rock on!
The Phantom is one of my alltime favs!! (I've seen it now 3 times)
as well as Miss Saigon, Rent, The Lion King, and showboat.
Fabu-lous!!!!
What a great sweet 16 idea. I laughed at the pickle pics, it looks like you girls had a great time!!
I didn't know that was a pic for the Phantom, I thought it was Michael Jackson..
Pickles rule..well good ones anyway. Those looked like good ones.:)
tc
I'm with Mel, 'Phantom' is my all time favorite too! We're scheduled to see it next July in D.C... This time we're taking the kids.
What a great 16th celebration... I had a sleep-over and a week later we found a half eaten hot-dog behind the stereo... Wild party, fer sure! NOT! Just a bunch of playing 'light as a feather, stiff as a board' and freezing eachother's bras. ;(
a bunch of GIRLS that is.
(sorry, really should read over my comments before I post them.)
Glad you had a good time hun. Sounds like a ball. Pickled in New York ... *snort* Love it, absolutely love it.
TG
That is more fun than a sweet 16 party anyway. I've always wanted to see Phantom.
How fun!!! I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time and the pictures are great.
I love the big city. Downtown Tampa just doesn't do it for me.
What a great birthday. My baby turns 18 this year and I haven't got a clue what to do for her!
Absolutely fantastic... what a great idea. I've seen the live show two or three times and it never disappoints. What a terrific gift... they'll remember that forever!
Looks like you all are having a great time! Right on! I love to see it!
Happy Birthday Diana.
Marc
I hope you all had a great time. I really am, but let's get this straight. You were pretty much right next door and didn't tell me. :-(
Looks fun! I'm a Les Mis fan myself, but Phantom is great too. I'm jealous.
What a great outing! Looks like everyone had a lot of fun. :)
Man, I'm going to let you plan my next girl weekend. I wouldn't have had to do all the cutting, planning and baking like I did for my girl day. That looks like way more fun...What a fabulous time with your daughter!
Now that is an AWESOME 16th birthday. How cool! She will definitely always remember that special time with mom!
what a great present...!!! i had a wild week in Manhattan 7 years ago (my god, 7 years ago already...) which involved a performance in a gallery/loft space on Broadway with my last band. it also involved falling in love with a Scots artist and she'll never know it...i sense the start of another tome in the making...!!! oh yeah and...in our next lives can you be my mummy Lime...??? hahaha...xxx
da city...
(this past weekend went into San Francisco for the first time... it was lovely...)

Aw man, can I turn 16 again, but do it with your family?
New York City???? Wow! What an adventure! Looks like you gals all had a wonderful time. Please tell the lovely Diana a belated Happy Birthday :)
What a terrific present!! You are the best mom, Lime!!!
