Friday 55 & Da Count-Simple Pleasures

This is a repost of one of the first Friday 55s I wrote a long time ago. I am lacking inspiration for a new one. Hope you don't mind.

Tracks of water run down the windowpane.
I drag my fingertips along your back.
Parched earth drinks in the water.
You quench my thirst with deep kisses.
Hard rain pounds the roof.
Our bodies pulse together.
Thunder crashes.
I cry out and you shudder.
The gentler pit-pat raindrops echo my slowing heartbeat
and we sigh.

DA COUNT
It's a rainy day, which is what made me remember this old 55. There is something about a rainy day that I love though. The potential for a replay of the scene above is one. It feels like a nice excuse to be a little lazy too. I suspect baseball practice for my son will be cancelled so tonight after supper I may be able to light a fire in the fireplace, sip some nice tea, and wrap up in my favorite blanket.

I love my blanket. It's a big, thick wooly thing that I took to college as my bedspread. All winter long I walk around the house wrapped up in it, sometimes just to prevent other people from stealing it. I'm a little possessive about it. I don't want anyone depriving me of my blanket, but I will happily share it with anyone who wants to snuggle. In fact, I think that only makes the blanket experience even better.

So dat's da count dis week...simple pleasures. A fire, some tea, my favorite blanket, and maybe if I'm lucky...all lovely things on a cold rainy day.

I have an old orange sleeping bag my dad used while he was stationed in Alaska- I am very protective of it.

When the kids used to want to borrow it I put down some strict rules for its use. They lovingly call it to date- The Alaskan-

Enjoy your wonderful rainy day :)

Hey! It's raining here too. But I had to go to work, it was cold. I'm clammy! You wouldn't mind sharing your blanket, would you?

Good morning Lime! Mmmm your blanket sounds nice and comfy. I keep blankets in the top of the coat closet for us to use in any season because I am not one to turn the thermostat up or down however, the one of us that have a blanket such as yours is Mr. B. His is a quilt that his late grandmother made him when he was about three. For as long as I have known him he has protected that quilt like it is a piece of gold. We all know not to touch it!LOL!He like you will share it for a snuggle but he won't give it up for someone to have all their own.

Hope you have a good weekened!

love the 55 and snuggling in blankets.
Rainy days are just good for snuggling... and stuff.

Snuggling is the best especially under a nice comfy warm blanket. It has been raining here but is just overcast ready to rain at a moments notice. I hope it takes it easy for a while, I have a six plus hour road trip to do. Have a nice snuggle and a wonderful weekend. By the way, the 55 is new to me so it is not a rerun. Either way very nice.

Ah, the little things. Thoughts like this can never be repeated too much.

Always a good reminder that the best part of being cold is getting warm again.

Mmmmm, yes . . . simply put, simple = good. Simple physical contact . . . a simple kiss . . . simple honesty . . . simple passion.

So now, if my wife calls me simple, I should take that as a compliment, right?

that is a wonderful 55.[ & we were singing a song about all the talented ppl here at Dan's last night, which includes you; cathy & I]

Rainy Day!
O for some here!
We are practically roasting in 44 degrees celcius!

In India , Rain is associated with romanticism. So many songs have been written about rain...water on parched land...lierally, it is the case here after the sweltering summer heat!

Rain? We don't get much of that here.

If I bring Tequila and you bring your blanket, wouldn't that be a lovely thing on a cold rainy day - I mean if we stay inside?!?
Wishing you and your family a great end to your week:-)

Rain Song
(Plant, Page, Jones, Bonham)

This is the springtime of my loving - the second season I am to know
You are the sunlight in my growing - so little warmth I've felt before.
It isn't hard to feel me glowing - I watched the fire that grew so low.

It is the summer of my smiles - flee from me Keepers of the Gloom.
Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune.
Ain't so hard to recognize - These things are clear to all from
Time to time.

Talk talk - I've felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go.
I cursed the gloom that set upon us...
But I know that I love you so

These are the seasons of emotion and like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion - I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient - upon us all a little rain must fall.

I think I got it! That 55er is about two people riding their tandum bike in a rain storm. Close?

I love a rainy night. Such a beautiful sight. When the lightning lights up the sky. You know, it makes me feel---how shall I put this----right.
