The Mind Boggles

At the chiro office where I am employed I work at the front desk herding maintaining patient flow among other things. I don't have a computer there so this count is for my keyboard at home. At work, however, we have over 100 patients come through the place each day. I've begun to wonder how many germs are residing on the counter where they all sign in and lean all over. I'm not a germaphobe by any stretch of the imagination but it still may not be a good idea for me to ponder this too deeply.

I wipe my keyboard down once a week with Lysol wipes. Don't know if it helps, but it makes me feel better.

I've read that the 'sign-in' pen at the Dr.s office, has more germs than your toilet seat!!

Meh, there are germs everywhere. Inside you, outside your, everywhere, all the time. If you've made it this far, you don't even need to think about it.

What Jazz said. A good immune system is worth a lot. . .

I'm the only one that uses this keyboard, so that helps. but it said I have about 1,842,540 or equivalent to the number of germs on 369 toilet seats. Thanks for the info, Lime. I'm going to drink a few ounces of antibacterial hand sanitizer now...

I do not work in a medical building, but I work in a school... the sneezing, coughing, running noses... AAAAAAAAhhhhh!

Sometimes I want to boot parents who send their kids to school sick. Or co-workers who insist on coming in sick. Oh, and I am a germaphobic handwashing fanatic.

I honestly think there is far too much hysteria over 'germs'. Sorry to hark back to 'in my day' but it is a fact that there were germs and we got colds and coughs and mumps and measles and infections and we gradually built up immunities.[well measles were bad and I'm glad we have a handle on that, and Polio] Anti-biotics that used to cure most things no longer work because they have been overused. I'm not saying to put yourself in the firing line when someone sneezes but, come on, the more you protect yourself the harder it will be for you to cope when you do get hit but a stray bug.

Ok lime, ya just gotta let me know...do you own tie dyed scrubs?
I didn't know you worked in a Chiro's office! Does your office employ Massage therapists? :)

Now Lysol that desk and go buy some Airborne for yourself and pump up your immune system...it's now officially Fall and the sick season begins! :(

Wow! How long did it take to count all of them?

lol, yes... don't give it too much thought and try not to notice the hygene habits of the patients either. :D I'm just shocked at how many people I've seen leave a bathroom without washing their hands over the years. Gross...

Mine is practically germ-free.. for now. It's brand new.

While I don't hide under the bed, given the number of different species of bacteria developing resistance to many antibiotics I regularly wash my hands at the hospital where I work.

How on earth did you snag your job - sounds amazing after having been out of the work force for a spell. I've been away from blogging so I'll have to scroll down and see how it progressed - last I remember you were applying at the library.

Hang in there with the germy keyboard - bleachk.

Wearing my beloved tie dyed shirt today :)
