Slice of Lime-Working Girl/Deskorcism

For those of you who were a bit concerned about me last week when I was not paid here is evidence that I eventually was. I'm preparing to sign my first paycheck in 19 years. Woohoo!

Now in the interest of fairness, I ragged on Diana who always kept her room at home like a pigsty. She now keeps her side of the dorm room neat while her roommate slobs out. Well, I have to admit my desk at home is a horror. It's a perpetual avalanche threat. Here's is the evidence.

Over the last couple of weeks at work I have endeavored to expunge my desk there of extraneous crap because it drives me out of my mind to have a hundred patients to deal with and an equal number of bits of paper and things all over the desk. I have considered the irony of this tendency. That is significantly cleaner than when I inherited it from the girl I replaced and it's workable, but there is some stuff I still want to get rid of. Go ahead, laugh. I find the irony amusing too.

Well, both my home and work desks are pretty sty-ish. Altho the one at work is much less so.

Believe me, I am quite messy enough all on my own, but my kids (and even Molly, on occasion) seem to have adopted the notion that my desk is a convenient place to stash stuff they don't otherwise know what to do with. . .

(*sigh*)

Woo hoo payday! Congratulations, Lime, you did it.

My desk is sorta clean right now because I got pissed off and shoved all of it onto the floor...but, my god, the floor....
:P

Congrats working girl!

Congrats and my condolences on the paycheck. Glad to see you making money... sorry that you have to walk away from the "stay at home" life... I loved those days!!!

What's worse than a messy desk? Kids getting into your piles!

I am fantastic at organizing a desk or work area... but on the other hand, I am horrific at keeping it up. :-(

I think lots of people have split personalities when it comes to housecleaning and work space. My office is much messier than our home. MY WIFE tells me her workspace, too, is different than our home. So, you're in good company - ours!

(And the word veri? Nuteduc - NUTTY DUCK! Sure, why not?)

Congrats on the paycheck! I too have been doing some "expunging" since we are moving again in 3 weeks. It's very liberating, but back-breaking just the same. I'm motivated by the fact that if I get rid of it now, I won't have to unpack and sort through it yet again in the next move!

colored post it notes, the working gal's best friend!!

well, um, i think the other kind of working girl is more interested in colorful condoms...but for us office chickies, pink, purple, green, orange post its make the work place more enjoyable.

Due to Mr. Logo's extreme case of OCD :p
I don't typically pile too much, in an attempt to keep him as sane as possible. He starts getting all twitchy, and that is just not sexy, ok, not at all.
Sooo, while things may not be bare and sterile as he would keep them they are also not cluttered and heaped as I would keep them.
Now EVERYONE is miserable!

I love paychecks. Got my first one in four months a few weeks ago and it was such an amazing feeling.

Oh, and congrats. :)

I dunno. I think it shows that we are different people at home versus work.

Why do I like seeing your desks so much?
