God Save the Squirrel

I've never dreamt of a purple squirrel
but now indeed I've seen one.
But I can truly say for sure
I'd rather see than be one.

You can see it for yourself here.  I'm not making this up.

I know they spoke to some biologist trying to get an explanation.  They should have just asked me.  It's obvious the squirrel has gone punk (even though emo is far more current these days but I suppose the squirrels avoid that look for fear the heavy eyeliner will mistake them for raccoons).  I'm quite sure if you look closely you'll find piercings in strange places on that squirrel.  I'd be willing to bet the squirrel does his tail in a row of threatening looking spikes.  The only reason we aren't seeing the studded collar on the squirrel is that he lost it trying to get out of the trap.  And I just know that back among his stash of acorns he's got all the recordings of the Sex Pistols and the Dead Kennedys.

It's rodential rebellion, man! (Which, by the way, would be a cool name for a punk band.)

That squirrel is probably an alien and is visiting earth because he has heard all the talk about colonies on the moon.

And I think it's strange that we don't have any grey squirrels here, but they are countless in the next town over.

Maybe someone is feeding it eggplant? I can't think of anything else purple that a squirrel would eat.

I wish I had a wisecrack, but I'm just fascinated! All of my backyard squirrels are grey. I'd really enjoy seeing them running around purple, pink, green, blue...

Rodent Rebellion. That IS a cool name for a band.

And I want that squirrel at the cottage.

We have the gray ones, and the little black ones, and the red ones (which are really gray/brown, but have red highlights on their tails and ears and paws). But I've never seen a purple one. Is there a dye factory nearby?

I saw that purple squirrel somewhere - I couldn't decide if it was cute or really, really creepy.

I couldn't click on the link. I missed classes in college because squirrels were on the path between me and the building. No squirrels. Can't click.

That is so strange. I used to dye yarn with purple onion skins. I can't imagine a squirrel eating onions. I'm kind of worried about this little guy. I hope he does well.

cooper, excellent point! or sunbury?

silly rabbit, we used to have an albino one that visited at our old house. that was always a groovy thing to see. i figure this purple one will be taken care of ok.

I want a purple squirrel too...but then again, my cats would probably eat it. I don't think they'd care what color it was. And Rodent Rebellion...excellent name for a band!
