Twenty-five years ago Mr. Lime and I were part of a group of 11 people who traveled by bicycle from Pennsylvania to California. In a few short hours we are leaving for a reunion of the folks with whom we traveled. Five years ago I posted a series of stories from the original trip. Since a lot of you weren't reading at that point and I;ll be gone for a few days I thought I'd leave the links for you in case you might be interested. It was quite an adventure. My job was not to pedal but to drive the support car, cook for the group, do their laundry, and set up camp each night. It was an amazing way to see the country and full of lessons as well as sights. I hope you'll take time to enjoy some of the stories.

I hope you're traveling for pleasure rather than business. Take care,
Thanks for these, Lime! I remember reading them many years ago. Not only are you telling bike stories (which you know will warm my heart), but you passed thru my hometown! I'm so glad they treated you well (I'd love to tell you that I knew Rev. Cupetelli, but alas. . .)
And Mackinac Island is about my favorite place in all the earth. . .
What a great adventure for your not-even-twenty-year-old self! And what a wonderful ending to the story! (You know I'm just an old romantic at heart, don't you?)
i think i started reading when you were posting these and was always confused about whether the trip was happening at that point or not. Hey - I didn't know...
Amazing! What a fun adventure. Thank you for linking to those posts so I can read them at my leisure. :)
Have a wonderful reunion!
Yowzers! Now I have reading material for my next twenty smoke breaks! Yay!
I think for old time's sake you should have all bicycled to the rendezvous destination! :-D
Cool. Thanks! Enjoy your reunion!
I'm gonna read them, even though I stopped smoking.
what an amazing journey .. enjoy the reunion, look forward to new stories and please travel safe
Oh drat, I read them all in one go! Now I will be Lime-less until you come back. Great series and it brought back tons of memories from my own cross-country journey at a similar age (albeit in an ancient VW microbus).
I wish you a very safe and fun trip. Happy reunionizing! :)
