Friday 55-Spider Silk

Radiant when dawn's light shines through dew-dappled strands,
Delicate enough to be destroyed by a careless wanderer,
Strong enough to fatally ensnare,

Your love is spider silk.

I was beguiled by your deceptive beauty.
I will not flail in panic
but
I will safely depart
your web
and
warn others
lest they too
become entangled.

so... the trick is to remain cool, calm, and collected. Not so easy to do when "Mr. Charming" has done you wrong! :)

An interesting interpretation of a spider's web. I like how you refer both to its beauty as well as its deadliness.

I wish I could say this to chocolate.

Did not see the twist coming at the end. I thought at first you would cease struggling and cling to the web. Nicely done!

Nice poetry there. However, I can hardly imagine a woman of your wit and intelligence being anything less than the spider :-)

Did you take that picture? I like the cool green glow. I haven't done well photographing spider webs. :-(

The ideas of flailing and safety combined in my head so that I've got "Safety Dance" playing on a neverending track in my head. Thanks a lot.
