Slice of Lime with a Side of Cousin

Lisa, Jacob and I took a couple of quick little tours here and there when Jacob needed to run off some energy. The first was out to Castle Island to run and scooter around the old fort.

The Speed Racer of Scooters.

He wanted Cousin Michelle to have a turn. Yes, he calls me Cousin Michelle. It's very endearing. Until he could remember my name he would beckon me with, "Hey, Mom's cousin!" I love that kid.

Then it was his mom's turn. Lisa was pleased by this picture because she said it let her know her butt wasn't as enormous as she thought it was. I affirmed that her butt was indeed just fine.

The next day we went to find the headwaters of the Charles River. Since the wind wasn't blowing and the sun wasn't making us squint we decided to try some group photos. Jacob actually took this one. No, I did not crop or otherwise alter his efforts. I think he did a terrific job.

He was a little less enthused when asked to stand for a picture. After all we were outside to let him run....

...and we had just been singing Sir Mixalot's "I Like Big Butts." I don't think his qualifies as big but he wanted to make sure we didn't miss it.

Lisa wanted to get a shot of my big butt and Jacob did not want to be left out. Hhhmm, last years "ass stance" at Harvard, this year's big butt at the head waters of the Charles...what is it about Boston that makes me keep turning the other cheek?

You crack me up, Lime. I worry more about the flat butt than the big butt. We all have our butt issues, right?

Far better a big butt than no butt.

What Citizen said, at least if you're female. . .

And listen, is it something about Boston that just brings the 'ass jokes' out of you?

I, alas, was bequeathed by my birth-father, a distinct, uh, limitation in the butt-ular department. Which bothers me not at all. But, it makes me a little sad that the only one of my kids who got that from me was one of my daughters. Five sons, and one of them couldn't have gotten it? Just don't seem right. . .

I learned a new word: badonkadonk. Funny, I never heard that one on Sesame Street. I have a question though. Is that an innocuous, cute term, or is it considered coarse speech?

Wow! That name / title thing seems quite familiar as is 'like big butts' although up til now I didn't know the source!
Cheers

Remembering that airport butt shot of you, Sign, and um, that other chicky when they came with Gman to visit you and brought you snax!

Hey missy, I did the Snow White apple thing years ago...I linked it on my blog if you wanna go back and see!

:)
Ahem, you were not wearing a helmet when you rode the scooter!

cocotte, i crack you up...pun intended? ;)

citizen, well the bigger ones do keep the pants from falling down

gman, glad to hear it

furiousball, well junk i got

desmond, the men in my family all seem to be blessed with adorable rumps until the hit middle age then they just cave in like a bad souffle. sorry to hear you are buttularly challenged

craver, fair question. i just know it from the trace adkins song "honky tonk badonkadonk." i sorta figured since it's in the title it isn't too terribly vulgar. however, urbandictionary.com defines it as a particularly shapely female posterior that shakes just so....no real answer for ya there.

maddy, lol, i know you have some folks who are fond of that tune.

s, dang, you're right there was another butt shot back when i was in detroit. and i forgot about your other apple post. man, we had some fun with some of those group efforts....

You really do make me laugh and I LOVE your hair. For someone who has been burdened with Bum Fluff all her life-thin and mouse coloured, neither curly or straight nondescript hair that could not excite a baboon i am intensely jealous of your curly unruly mass.

So really, what is it about you and assses and Boston?

Suldog said...

Some of those shots look suspiciously close to Watertown. Were you?

lime said...

maonnie, glad i gave you the giggles, sorry i incite envy. i need a haircut soon, you want i should make a wig from my clippings?

jazz, gees, i dunno. i guess you could say it brings out my best/worst side depending upon your perpsective

suldog, the first 4 shots are all at castle island. the last 4 were all at what lisa told me were the headwaters of the charles river. i think she said we were in newton. does that sound right? is that near watertown?

You're very brave and very comfortable to have photographic evidence of your butt. I assume I have one since I sit on it a lot, but I don't want to necessarily see it! :)

Right now i think North Dakota can be considered Watertown...

That first photo (of the three of you) is just beyond wonderful!! It radiates LOVE. I am so delighted that You had the treat of this mini-holiday. ('Cause I love Ya, doncha know!)

LMAO!!! What is it about Boston indeed! :)

You all are very ass-tacular!

Suldog said...

Yes, Newton borders Watertown, so I think you ended up about a mile or less from our house!

fadkog, lol, some would say brave, some would say comfortable, others would say attention seeking. thank you for being charitable.

cooper, eesh, sadly you are right

john-michael, i do love my cousins an awful lot. they're just darned special. thanks for sharing the joy. :)

mssolitaire, i kinda hope ass-tacular makes the vernacular ;)

suldog, i never knew!

You are a braver woman than I, although I do get a kick out of the big butt song :) Braver for photographing your butt, and even braver for roller blading! Great fun to see your pictures.

I hate those scooters, tried out my son's once a few years ago going down a hill, hit a pebble, stopped in like a millisecond, and flew off landing on my side. An ass landing would have been a blessing.

Looks like you had a great, fun butty time! Isn't it wonderful to still get to visit cousins and enjoy their children. I'm fortunate too...I visit my cousin in PA a few times a year and enjoy hanging with her 4 kids!

p.s. I have a nice butt...it has only grown a little bit...now don't go round to the front of me...that's a different story!

Isn't it great to bum around with family? I loved this cheeky post. :)

I think you just bring it out in people. From what I remember your brief touch down in Michigan a few years ago also features some lovely ladies all displaying their back sides.

I think everyone looks just fine. Now a former boss of mine, that is a different story. She was ... well it is not nice to talk about people.

I love your self irony.
That's what's make people great for me.

Until one's butt fills the entire shot--without using a zoom--then it ain't big.
